It's hard to believe it's been two years. two long, long years just kidding! ;D
here is the link to an article written by GT's batmom shortly after Loca's GUR from georgia to canada. the quiet dog calmly taking a cookie in the top picture is an impostor. when i started asking about loca after reading about her on GT, i was sent pictures and a description of the wrong dog, as there were several black brood mamas on the farm. the dog in the top pic is the dog i thought i was getting. now i know that loca would never accept a cookie so quietly!

i was expecting a sweet, quiet, dignified, subdued older retired brood mama. throughout loca's GUR, i kept receiving emails and phone calls saying "this is the wrong dog", "there's no way she's 8" "she's a nutcase". sure enough, she was the wrong dog #wtf# (sorry, i'm gong to keep using that now LOL). yes, she was Reko Swahili, the dog i had inquired about, but i was sent pictures and descriptions of the wrong dog!!!
imagine my surprise when my "tested cat safe" dog walked into my house, grabbed my cat by the neck and started shaking! i had to keep loca tied to my waist with her leash for over a month until i instilled the "kitty is good" mantra into her head.
originally i was going to call loca "spike". on day two in my house i found her on my dining room table on all fours. i yelled "esta loca!!!". it stuck. loca she was, and after two years, at age 10 years, she's still muy loca #11_1_123#
about a month after adoption, she grabbed a st. bernard puppy by the neck (the pup was bigger than she was) at a meet and greet. it took five of us to pry open her mouth. that night i made arrangements for her to be returned to her group. a couple of nights later, i woke up and saw a sweet, scared dog that was trying to learn what was expected of her. she's been my cross to bear ever since #heartbeat#
i received this pics about a week after loca arrived at my house. do you think this dog (the REAL loca) would have accepted those cookies so calmly??
this is loca today, monopolizing her new mr. pink stuffie, made just for her by gt's batmom. that's loca all the way; what's hers is hers, what mine is hers, and what's phene's is hers. life would be so dull without her #36_3_5#
