The situation in New Orleans remains very difficult, thousands of animals continue roaming the streets, trapping goes on, and there is a transition in moving temporary shelters to more permanent ones. These are the current needs: - People are needed to go down, even for long three day week ends. Please contact me if interested. - Foster homes. Spaces in shelters around the country are running out. Please contact me if interested. - Money for airline tickets. Round trip from several eastern cities are about $220. Please consider sponsoring someone to go down and work. -Traps. The ones being used cost about $125, with shipping and tax. -Gas cards. Rescue workers drive from early in the morning until late at night, setting and checking traps. Making food and water drops, and transporting animals all over the city, and to the shipping shelter in Mississippi. While Katrina has become somewhat, "old news," according to the media, a real crisis continues for so many homeless, sick, and distressed animals. The time grows closer when the authorities plan to shoot the dogs on the streets. TIME IS SO IMPORTANT! All of your help is so greatly appreciated. I am leaving to go back in two weeks. I will be sending some money directly to two different groups, and taking some supplies with me. Please send checks to: Shug Davis 8355 Algon Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19152 Thank you, Shug Shug Davis ShugDoggie@aol.com

....I had heard about the shootings and was outraged. They had posted a video on GT about it. It was deleted because it was so upsetting. I did send monies to North Shore Animal League as well as Noah's Wish. I wish I could do more....I told my DH if we lived closer I'd take a week off from work and help out. To see those poor babies in such distress breaks my heart. That's awesome that your going down to help! Your a good person..... #36_1_32v#
