In honor of the professor we need to add Jesse Burgess, the 20 racing vet who stuffed 3-4 dogs per hole before heading off to Mexico, to the Hall of Shame thread. Get this: Mr. Burgess got held up at the border and had to head to a US facility for the night, upon arrival he opend the trailer to find 8 of the dogs died. He blamed the situation on the Director of Racing at Tuscon for improper loading and also claimed he didn't know about the rule limiting the transport to 2 dogs per hole and walking them every 4 hours. Although the rule was passed in 1993, he said "I don't read to good". It seems his English isn't much better! Perhaps our resisdent English teacher, JCSPerson, could tutor him between writing those letters to the editors of all the newspapers who have the audacity to pring anything negative, albeit truthful, about the treatment of greyhounds at the hands of people like Burgess.
I have a question: If the trip had made it to Mexico and let's say 10-12 have died, do you think we'd be discussing Mr. Burgess? Or do you think I shallow hole would have covered the whole situation up? Hmmm, I wonder if any other dog deliveries to Mexico have resulted in dead dogs that we've never head about?
