Hi, I'm Billie Mann, a member here referred me, saying she thought I'd like it here.
I'm a work-from-home full-time artist, quit my part-time job less than two weeks ago to do it! I hear my boss can be a bit of a ::) though.
My husband and I do not have any Greys ourselves, we have 2 Min Pins, a Min Pin mix, 4 cats and 2 fish tanks.
I only "discovered" Greyhounds in January of 2005 when a friend of mine, who makes speciality collars for Greyhounds and other breeds, asked me if I could paint animals, I said I didn't know, I could try, and he asked me to try Greyhounds, so he could hang them at his booth for his collars. I want to adopt a GH or an Iggy but my DH says no, for financial reasons and also because he says 4 dogs would be too hard to walk, to the latter I replied "How would you know? You never walk them. I take care of all of the critters, feed them, brush them, take them to the vet, on walks, pill them, trim their nails...you just sit on the sofa and let them lie all over you at night!"
And actually... when I come into the living room for the evening, after fixing dinner etc, and sit down to watch TV and hang out, at least two of the dogs abandon HIS lap for mine! HA!
But right now we can't get any more critters because we have to be on the same "page" about it, I know. I can't just show up at home with another pooch. But he DID agree that when we do get another one, it can be a GH or an IG.
This looks like a nice, open site for talking about lots of stuff. I enjoy participating in discussions of all kinds with members, and being a part of the community, interacting with people on a more personal level too than just business.
I'm friendly, outgoing, outspoken, very playful, often silly (my nickname is sometimes Silly Billie) and I have a strong and often extremely silly sense of humor (think Monty Python humor). I'm looking forward to hanging out here with everyone. I love art, animals, yoga, sushi, old moves (especially horror flicks and Alfred Hitch. flicks).
I just started doing Yoga about a year ago after being diagnosed with the beginnings of Lumbar Spondylosis (arthritis in my lower back). I'd been lifting weights at a gym very heavily and regularly for some 20 years until I started getting a lot of chronic back pain and finally went to the doctor. I love Vinyasa Yoga! I do a DVD of Baron Baptiste yoga, at home, 3 days a week. It's actually pretty strenuous, and it's 45 minutes long. The only weird thing is that Baptiste keeps saying phrases like "Happy spine" and "Happy in the pose" ::) and it made me laugh a lot at first.
Here's a link to a page with photos of our pets (fish aren't pictured):

BTW, This emoticon is perfect for me! It fits me well!
Glad I heard about this site, looking forward to chatting with everyone here!
