I'll begin with Woody the Brittany Spaniel. Woody was rehomed from the kennels about a year ago to a nice young couple. About two weeks later we got an urgent phone call from them saying he was biting anyone who walked up to them in the street and had just attacked their friend when he came into the house. The man bought him back but when he got to the kennel door he couldn't let go. They kept Woody and paid thousands of pounds for behaviour specialists to see him. But the other day we had another urgent phone call saying they had split up and that Woody now had nowhere to live :(
I have to say I've really fallen for him...but how could I not:
Now I'll introduce Trevor, a sad elderly stray. You couldn't find a nicer cat. He has numerous medical conditions and is basically living on borrowed time. He can't be rehomed because of this.
Just to show how skinny he is:
Then there's the feryl cat William. Who I managed to get purring for the first time a few days ago. Now he's comming round pretty quick
There's Tyra the Boxer X. Never taken outside the house she lived in. To begin with she was very agressive (due to this lack of socialisation) but noe she's lovley as anything
The smallest dog in the shelter at the min is Tia the Yorkie who was left to a 'non-doggy' person in her mother's will, the 'non-doggy' person didn't like her much and the nervous little girl ended up at the shelter
Hmmm, then there's Jack Russell Mac. Mac doesn't like me...as you can see. He was bought in as a stray and is very picky about the people he chooses to get on with
But can be cute when there's food around:
You may have seen my thread the other week about me helping a cat give birth for the first time ever. Here's one of the kittens:
Kimmi! One of the most stunning dogs I have ever met (this pic doesn't do her justice). She's a Great Dane X Ridgeback and still a puppy. Really sweet natured girl
Here's Jack...the Jack Russell that does like me. He was rehomed in January and bought back last week as he was too bouncy for them
This poor feryl is facing a very uncertain future as she is so agressive (what the pic doesn't show is that she was growling at me at this stage)
Boe doesn't really need explaining. He's a Devon Rex who was just neglected, along with his Persian friend who has had to have all his fur shaved off he was so badly matted
Here's what he should look like:
Bill needs help. He came in with an absess on his head that has been removed. Unfortunatly it has left it's mark and he will need plastic surgery costing thousands of pounds to correct it. The rescue center can't afford it and as a result he is looked over by people. He's such a friendly cat too
Baiden! A Maremma Sheepdog who was up for rehoming when I got Lenny from there five years ago. Unfortunatly due to his numerous medical problems, old age, protective nature and enormous size, no one wanted him. The rescue center have taken him on as the guard dog...even if he is deaf!
Poor Allie is a Mastiff girl with a really sweet temperament. Her problem is that she is so incredably dog agressive anyone would find it hard to believe she was not used in dog fights. She has been here a while now and due to her dog agression (you wouldn't physically be able to take her out of the house) the trustees want her put down
