I just can't believe it! Lately, when I've been picking up my cat, I knew he started to feel a little heavier, so , I put him on my scale and ahh, it read 26 pounds!! When Lexi attacked him he weighed 16 pounds, and that was in the beginning of last November. I know he can smell better do to the asthma medicine and he runs up and down the steps, runs up and down the hallway and plays with his toys. He is on a low fat diet, and as far as treats, he gets a few pieces, very small taste of my grill chicken, crab meat and grilled tiapia, and once in awhile a Friskies turkey treat, my vet, does not recommand them she calls them laur sticks with salt on them. And he doesn't eat alot there is always food in the bowel , I feed him once a day. Could this be muscle, since he has become active. And he really doesn't waddle like he used to, and yes he is a male, Main Coon, which are large cats to begin with. I can't believe it, oh, one more thing he dosen't sleep as long, he tries to stay up to see everything I am doing. Any suggestions?

I think cats just pack it on as they age. I thought they all did that.

He is getting big. We could bring over the demons and let them chase him around some. :o

Actually, I think Toby would give them a run for their money, last time we went to the beach house with Shadow, Toby turn the tables and chased him all though the house, but, bring them over, it be like the "old days". Toby is quick, I just think the Main Coon is coming out in him, Oh, such a baby.

I think cats just pack it on as they age. I thought they all did that. no, they don't. my cat is turning 11, and she is at her perfect weight fo 9 pounds. i think your cat is extremely overweight and should go on a diet in order to stay healthy. there is no way a cat should weight that much, even a maine coon.

I think my scale is off, its reading my wgt. as more and I know thats not right. There is no way he went from 16-26 in 2 1/2 months as active as he has been in a long time. I've also notice I can see his muscles move when he walks and he can now jump with no problem. I'll be taking him to the vets. with me next week when I pick up his refill of the ArtthriMaxx and I'll have the girls weigh him. He is on diet food and eats healthy snacks such as grilled chicken, crab meat, and grilled fish, just a small taste, but, he was has been a big boy, even when he was a kitten.
