Wednesday night Extruding Dream would not be denied the win and held by a head to score six in a row and his 35th win of the season.
He could tie Cayman Went's season record in his next start.
Extruding Dream's victory was also his eighth win in nine starts over the 660-yard course. The dual distance champion held off the charging Oneco Dasani at the wire. Extruding Dream races for the Magic City kennel, which has already set a new season win record for the 2005-2006 racing season. Last year the racing season was longer and Bahama Mama broke the 1999 record set by Ryan Farms of 280 wins during a six-month meet with a new 288.
This year's extended season is the longest in the track's history. Magic City has plowed its way to the top of the charts shattering all records. He currently boasts 345 wins with 20 performances left before the June 30 season finale. McAllister kennel, who is in his second season in St. Pete, is in second place, impressively, with 322 victories. LaRosa Enterprises is on McAllister's heels with 319 wins followed by Lester Raines at 311 and Wayne Ward with 310 wins making up the top five.- By Vera Filipelli
