-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All bets are off at the Plainfield Dog Track. The place is giving up its state gaming license. It's been a tough run for the track. Customers started to disappear when the two casinos opened up back in the 90's.Last year, greyhound racing was stopped and many dogs were put up for adoption. Now the track will shut down betting operations, and the town has to decide what it will do with the almost 900 acres of land. Last year, Plainfield was approached by a developerproposing an indoor domed NASCAR style race track seating 140,000 people. However, the first selectman says he had been disenchanted with the developer's lack of hard information on his proposed development, from the scope ofthe $400-million dollar project to the sources of funding. The developer has an option on the dog park property and options withother property owners in the area with an out if he isn't happy with the zoning situation. A planning and zoning meeting was held last night to consider changing back to the prior zoning and another will be held in July. www.wfsb.com/Global/story.asp?S=4945785
