By Mya Blake Dogs Fatally Attack Elderly Woman
Two dogs are being blamed for the death of a Librarian, who was out for her daily walk at the time of the attack.
Dianna Acklen, 60, of Franklin County was found yesterday in her neighbor's driveway, with the neighbor's dogs running loose. By her injuries, it was clear that they had been sustained from dog bites, bites that led to the woman's death.
Diane Krauth is the head of the library where the woman worked and states: "She's walked this (route) hundreds of times, what went wrong this day?"
Investigators are still trying to piece together the events that led up to the attack. After celebrating her grandsons birthday, Acklen set out on her daily walk and was then attacked by the two dogs, a Chocolate Lab, and an unknown breed: "We think either the dogs approached her in the yard, and she fled to the residence to get away, or she was trying to knock on the door to complain about them," said Franklin County Sheriff's Maj. Bruce Elliott.
The fate of the two dogs involved in the attack is unclear, and will be determined by the DNA tests that are currently being run to determine if they were in fact the two dogs responsible for the woman's death.

The news rarely reports the results of the DNA test and the fact that the dog was PTS. The story is the woman's death. But I'll keep my eye out.
