Dear Tex,
Hi baby boy. I think about you every single day and still wish so deeply that we were still together. Today is the anniversary of you coming to live with me and daddy. I am so happy that you joined our family. Your time with us was short but the love you brought still warms my heart and will for a long time. I tried to remember all day today that today is a happy day but often my eyes teared up as I thought of you and wished so desperately that you could be on the couch when I got home from work. I miss you so much.
I hope you are free of stress and pain at the bridge...
Happy 3rd gotcha day Coco-beans, momma loves you and is so happy you shared your life and love with me.

What a beautiful boy your Tex is....it's obvious that he was a very special boy and loved very much. Could you do me a favor Tex? Could you tell my big boy Chance how much Mommy and Daddy miss him and that there's not one day that goes by that we don't think about him. Everything I do for the greyhounds is in honor of you...you were my first. You turned me on to this magnificent breed.

Because of Tex we went and pick out 2 more boys to share our lives with, and because of Tex when we went to pick up our 2 new boys we came home with 3. Tex was our first grey too and I see bits of him in each of my new boys...which makes me smile...with tears... I want it all; I love my new greys (and all the ones I can't have and all the ones I will have) but I still want my Tex following me around the house too. :-[ :'( Tex is my heart dog. |

I said to my husband what's so nice about being involved in greyhound rescue/adoption is not only are you helping to save a dog's life and make a person or family happy I have met so many wonderful, caring loving people and have made so many new friends and for that I'm greytful....you guys are the best!! ;D |

It is a wonderful connection... We share the beginning of the adventure of life with greyhounds... I think it is just awesome that our paths have crossed yet again! I said to my husband what's so nice about being involved in greyhound rescue/adoption is not only are you helping to save a dog's life and make a person or family happy I have met so many wonderful, caring loving people and have made so many new friends and for that I'm greytful....you guys are the best!! ;D Sheri and I first met when she and her husband were adopting Tex at Tex's adoption group. I had gone there to adopt Tex also (he was the only known cat-safe hound at the kennel), but they beat me to it, probably by just a half hour or so, as they were still there when I arrived. If I had arrived first, I would have adopted Tex instead of Phoenix. Since Sheri and Greg arrived first, I adopted Phoenix the following day from another group. |
