HE'S BEEN FOUND HE'S BEEN FOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Gosh darn it...I was trying all night to get online and let you all know
Igor was found last night and I have him at my house!!! The one time I
really NEED to get online...my yahoo email was not working....boy did they
get a big complaint!!!!!
Anyway...here's the story. The retired dentist who lived in the area of the
accident and spotted Igor out his window yesterday....found him huddled last
night under the tarp where he keeps his wood trying to stay out of the
torrential rains. He carried Igor upstairs and kept him warm feeding him
bits of food and water until he could call me in the morning. Wonderful kind
man!!! If I had to hide out it would be at his place...he has a bird
sactuary, totally awesome and peaceful. Hil and I had checked his place
before but he wasn't home when we did.
But back to Igor...my mom went with me to pick him up....when we got in the
Dr.'s house Igor was curled up by the fire under blankets....eyes looking
pretty sickly but alert. We almost burst into tears when I took the blankets
off...Igor, once 75 pds has lost 30pds...has numerous wounds on him...one
huge one on his leg that will require surgery later when his system is
beefed back up. I could not remember my vets number...so called my other
vets...the one I no longer use...but they knew about Igor...so I figured
they would take him right in....wrong...they could not see him until
tomorrow...or I guess that would be today. We loaded Igor into the
car....stopped at the little store on the way back into town...I got their
phone book out and called my current vet, Dr. Moody....who said bring him
RIGHT in...we're waiting!! And they were...with a stretcher and all the
staff at the door.
Igor handled all this like a champ....after checking all the wounds....Dr.
Moody said for all Igor had been through...he took very good care of keeping
his wounds clean, the ones he could get to that is....the worst one on his
leg...he figures happened when he flew out the window of Sarah and Eli's
car....it looks horrible, but will be fine after surgery...when he is able
to have it. The others he cleaned and dressed, gave him a shot of
antibiotics and some to bring home with me....he has to eat in small amounts
right now...every two hours...I stayed home with him...Chris Rinard came by
to see him and talk to him. He is getting lots of rest....but champ that he
is....gets up to go outside to potty...my doggies are all being very kind
and mellow with him.
A little bit ago he started shaking all over...he was having
nightmares...I'm sure he will have those for quite some time. I can't
imagine what he saw and went through out there in the woods...his back looks
like something bit him right between the shoulder blades.
Sarah and Eli will be here tomorrow and will be staying the rest of the week
possibly. They both were in tears when I called them to tell them I was on
my way to pick up Igor....I know they are going to cry when they see their
baby, but the good news is that Igor is going to recover just fine.
This boy would not have made it too much longer out on his own in the
woods....it was a miracle that got him to the right place with the right
person in just the nick of time. And I know all the white light and prayers
for this boy....certainly contributed to his rescue....Sarah and Eli thank
you all from the bottom of their hearts."
