I forgot to mention this in my other post about marking, and thought it deserved it's own thread anyway. A few weeks ago my male greyhound peed or marked (not sure which) ON my female greyhound. He just walked right up beside her and lifted his leg and went. Is it just me or is that very strange??? I almost couldn't believe my eyes!!!
What's that all about??? :P
Thanks!

Was it once, or multiple times? I have seen dogs at the kennel do that before. I actually had a dog come back in from turnout, a dog that I had a particular affection for, and when I went to kiss his face found pee all over his head!!! He had been marked on big time!

Just once that I saw. Any idea why they would do that?

Zeus sometimes will mark on Milky while we are walking our guys. She is a white grey. It doesn't happen often though.

My dog has marked our smaller grey twice now. He just seems to get anxious about marking the same spot that she is marking and does not wait for her to finish before he starts.

My question would be, did he do this while she was going potty? Or was she standing around and he just lifted his leg on her. My MIL male will pee on my dogs while they are peeing. It's like he HAS to mark RIGHT NOW!!
I think, he's young and just needs to learn the ropes. What's acceptable and what's not. As far as marking in the house. Have you tried leashing him to you? That way he is never out of sight and you can correct him quickly. Another option might be baby gates to keep him in or out of a certain part of the house. GOOD LUCK!!

I definitely think age and probably a recent altering has something to do with it. Juveniles sometimes are just a little full of themselves (as well as pee!).

Sounds like he's having dominance issues to me. Would you say he was aware of who the top dog is in the house?
