Does anyone's grey eat dirt? Ours seem to love after it has rained and it is muddy.

JJ the whippet will stand at the potted plant out front that has fresh potting soil in it and dine on a bit. He will do it everyday when I get home from school if I let him. I know it is becasue they are looking for some minerals, but I don't let him do it.
I read on another board that other grey homes have this going on too.

Yesterday I decided to watch JJ's technique....... He digs into the dirt like a dog digs into a good dinner. He isn't just sampling this stuff, he already knows he likes it.
Kittie crunchies.... ??? ick!

Suzy is really sneaky. She grabs a handful of dirt in her mouth and goes to the door to come in. She hides it so we can't tell. So,we let her in and she goes over to her dog bed and spits out the dirt and eats it. Lincoln has found the kitty crunches. Eww.
