My Heidi, the dog that used to eat anything, is now not eating her dog food. She totally refuses to eat!! I've tried adding yummies to it and she either picks out the yummies or licks it off the kibble. I've switched flavors of dog food a couple of times in the past couple of months. BTW, it all started over mothers day weekend. I don't know what happened that weekend. She went to the beach with my DH and didn't eat all weekend. She has lost weight and I will be taking her to the vet to have her checked out. I'm a little nervous because I lost my first greyhound at the age Heidi is currently. I hope there is nothing wrong. Also, I would like weight gaining ideas. It's so unbelievable to me that she is not eating!! This is the dog that has a built in alarm every 12 hours!! She always let me know when it was time to eat. Any ideas??!!
ETA: She eats treats so I know its the kibble. Also she is 7 now, should she be on a senior formula.

I know how you are feeling. Our Suzy will go on hungry strikes and won't eat. She likes to stand by her bowl and growl or bark if one of the cats or other dogs get near.
We have found that she will eat Nutru Natural Choice Chicken and Rice regular and senior brands.
We also have to put can food and carrots in her food. She has been eating good lately on this food.
Good luck.

I have Nutro Lamb and rice. I went a bought a beef and rice, not nutro. Last night I put ground beef in with the kibble and she ate it. I just get so worried about her weight. I don't want her getting too thin. I still think a vet appointment might be in order. We'll see how she does this weekend.
