It’s been quite a while since I posted on E.G. So for some I am new. For others you remember me well.
For those who don’t know me, let me reintroduce myself.
I am the owner of TJ’s Greyhounds.
We raced all over the country but are based in Kansas.
I am pro racing. I have zero tolerance for Grey2K. I have zero tolerance for the anti’s. I also have zero tolerance for those in racing who abuse their privileges.
For those who seek to learn with an open mind, I have all the patients in the world. For those who seek to demonize and destroy, expect harsh responses.
I’ve had fast dogs, and some not so fast. I’ve seen the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. I’ve seen the best of the sport, and the worst.
I’ve held newborn pups at the farm, and held my retirees as they took their last breath.
At TJ’s Greyhounds all of our racers come home. We do not adopt. They are ours and our responsibility, both on and off the track.
I’ve worked the kennels, both racing and adoption. Early mornings and late nights. I’ve met some of the nicest people I know in racing. I’ve also met some buttheads.
I’ve had tracks close on me. I’ve seen the tears and the devastation.
I’ve seen the political scene. I understand why things are the way they are. I’ve seen the sport I love struggle as it tries to cope with being competitive in a casino frenzied world. Our brothers and sisters in the horse world also share in our struggle.
Through it all, our sport survives. The greyhound is one of the last least tampered with breeds. May its pureness last forever!
