I have only tried it once so I will have to see if I can get accustomed to it. I liked the old chat because you could see who was typing and could wait for a post before responding. Also it was very easy to use. This one so far looks a little more complicated and I was unable to activate the pm function. Also there are a lot of ads that dominate the screen which is a pain. I'll try it again today during chat session to see if I can get it. I may be too dumb for this one. LOL

Tom, I hate to be negative but I really have to say that I do not like this chat at all for several reasons.
You have to sign on to it much like registering on a board to get the functions to work.
You also have to sign in to the pm feature and the person you are pm'ing has to be signed in for it also to receive the message.
My posts were showing very slow. Could be something on my end but I never had that problem before. Really messes up the flow.
The old board showed who was typing which made conversation easier because you could avoid typing over each other.
This board shows the posts made even before you arrive so you have to be careful not to say anything out of order that might offend someone.
To be honest this board looks bland to me in appearance and the constant changing ads really annoy me.
Sorry to ne so negative but I vote for the old chat room.
P.S. I think many people are a little afraid to join in chat because it is new to them. The old board was pretty simple to show up and give it a try. I think this board with registering to get access will scare newcomers to chat away. Just my 2 cents.

Well, everything new takes time to get used to...
But, really prefer the old chat.
First because you could see someone is typing, which made sure you wouldn't interrupt.
Second, also this one doesn't show that people are in chat, the old one did it sometimes.
Third, there are so many adds, that it gets confusing (yes, i know I am old)
Positive note, for the people using sound and a webcam, this chatroom must be fun.
But since I don't have those features (LOL, maybe just as well) all I can do is listen or look.

i like it as have used it on previous forums i have been on b4 the only hting is this doesnt have fun sounds or smilies but pple can live with it xxxx
