Based on early Scottish ballads and pulished by the poet, Robert Burns in the 1700s, Auld Land Syne is sung on New Year's Eve in almost every english speaking country in the world.There you know Hoppin John isa traditional Southern New Year's Day dish made with black-eyed peas, some say the recipe came from the Caribbean and others say Africa.
