I was watching the news this morning and they did a clip on some puppies. They were called "Puggles". It's a Pug\Beagle mix. They were cute puppies but they wanted between $500 -$700!!! EACH!!! For a mix breed!! It probably started out as an oops litter and now they will make tons of money on a mixed breed!!! You know what I think?? :'(

I'm not a big fan of new "breeds" either. I'm just no tready to accept a labrodoodle!!!!
But 300 years ago the whippet was made and it was less than 100 years ago they were accepted here, so I shouldn't be so snobby I guess..... But I still don't like the new breed experiments.

Yeah, I had seen it too and yes they are awfully cute. To me what's sad is dogs and cats that are sitting in shelters waiting for their forever homes. I tell people go to rescue groups.....you can get almost any breed of dog that suites your fancy and your saving a life!! Sigh...a girl that I work with just bought a boxer pup. She's beautiful, but again she bought this dog from a Pet Store. After telling her the horrors of puppy mills when she adopted her Akita from a pet store, who by the way has major medical issues, she told me, "Oh, gee....I didn't know it was that bad. Thanks for the heads-up. Next time I'll go to a private breeder or breed rescue." When she told where she got her from I bit my tongue. As my DH tells me all the time...."It's none of your business". Makes me crazy......

There is even a club like the AKC. It's called the American Canine Hybrid Club!! I've heard of Labrodoodle. I guess it burns my gut that "new" breeds are being created when so many dogs are in shelters. Also, don't forget Christmas is just around the corner. Cute pupy time, then it's dog return time.

These so-called "new breeds" are not new breeds at all. These idiots who breed irresponsibly are obviously trying a way of making more money out these puppies and by declaring them a "breed" they can charge more. The sad thing is people will buy these puppies and encourage these people.
Why, in this day and age, do people still buy puppies from breeders? Why not go to a rescue centre? Makes me so mad 8-)

I agree about going to shelters or rescues. And besides, have you seen some of the prices of puppies. I saw a chihuahua puppy for $2000!! And just look how many end up at a rescue center. I was at the flea market last Sunday and saw 5 people selling puppies. Mostly Chihuahua's, so they said. And people were buying them for $250 and up. Adorable puppies, I petted each one and told them I will probably see them later at the shelter. :'(
