By now it is clear that around 100 greyhounds are taken by the gypsies. From experience we know they will be used to produce 2 litters a year to get faster galgo's for hunting. So first they raced in Ireland, were sold to Spain and spend several years there on one of the worst tracks possible and now they end up in situations worse than hell. Fermins biggest fear is that more greyhounds will be sold this way. But with the 100 greyhounds that came in last week, Scooby is full. The only option is renting kennels, which will cost about 20 euro per dog, per month. To this they will need food, medical care, vaccinations, bloodtests and neutering. But the big question is, how to pay for this. It is decided that the greyhounds won't be adopted out for the normal adoptionmoney. Since they are all older and all have medical problems, like arthritis and terrible teeth. A good home for a few more years is more important now. People need to realise that these poor dogs aren't galgo's that hunted for one or two years, but that they are used, abused for many years. If there is anything you can do... please check the Scooby website. www.scoobymedina.comPetra
