There are so many websites that list hazardous plants/foods for dogs and cats. It seems if you were to combine all the list the master list would include EVERYTHING! ??? What are the safe veggies that greys can munch on? My boys like carrots and apples and sometimes celery... Devin thought his celery snack today was just ... Murphy seemed rather disappointed... Please post what kind of fruit and veggies your hounds like to eat. Thanks! :)

EVERYTHING!! Except leafy stuff like lettuce or spinach. I used to grow carrots in the garden but Heidi would dig them up and eat them!! Had to put up a fence. This summer they liked melons and berries.

Henley loves carrots, apples, pears. He will eat celery but it is not his first choice. Lettuce is another one of his likes along with turnip and cabbage. We discovered that bananas (which he somehow peels himself) are a favorite and can no longer hang on the banana rack unless we keep the rack on top of the fridge. I have also found huge chunks out of my Aloe plant (primarily when he was teething) soft fruits such as grapes, oranges and tomatoes seem to get a single bite then abandoned. Cooked veggies he will eat just about anything.

Sounds like Henley can not be trusted alone in the kitchen! ;) One of our boys, Devin, steals a whole loaf a bread in a blink of an eye! #laughing# I'll see if any of the boys (we have 3 greys) want to try some banana tonight. Word of caution though, grapes/raisins are toxic for dogs...they can cause kidney failure. Just thought you may want to know.

Our Zeus loves bread too and can't snatch it in a sec.

I feed carrots and the dogs love them. Besides, what could be beter for a SIGHT hound?!?!?!?!
To get your dogs hooked on them you may need to shred them and add them to their food. Once the develop a liking for the tast, they'll eat the big crunchy ones.
